This page is where I will review gadgets that are used most often or new gadgets that I try and like. Most of my reviews will probably be kitchen items due to the quarantine as I am learning to cook and I love things that makes life efficient (even though I have more time now). I hope some of these items will be useful to you too!
If you’re interested in the product, you can either click on the bolded green titles or click the link below each post and it will take you to the website where I purchased the item.
Dash Juicer
I’ve been making yummy fresh squeeze orange juice with this gadget for the past few months and I can’t believe I never heard of this automated juicer before.
I also juice lemons/limes for sauces and this has saved me from multiple hand cramps. This juicer is lightweight and easy to use. Although I’m showing you this brand, there are plenty of other brands that look just as great and may be cheaper.
My mom has a giant juicer machines that can juice celery, apples, oranges, rocks etc…She used it for a month when she bought it and now has never seen the light of day because it is inconvenient to clean and takes up a lot of counter space. I would also recommend this for anyone who may not want to take out their large and heavy machine on a daily basis.
Instructions
Step 1: Plug in the juicer. The gadget comes with two cone sizes to use depending on the size of the fruit/vegetable. Attach the larger cone to juice an orange.
Step 2: Near the top of the handle, there is an adjustable tab to allow pulp or no pulp. Cut your orange in half, place on the juicer cone, push down and it will automatically rotate. Once you lift the orange and press down, it will rotate in the opposite direction.
Step 3: Look at how the amazing juicer scrapes all of your orange and only leaves you with delicious juice!
Pros
Lightweight - It weighs 1lb and it is great for apartments and takes up minimal counter space or storage
Easy to use
Easy to clean (all of the pieces can be dissemble)
Cons
It is cone shape, so you have to pause and rotate the fruit occasionally to get all of the juice.
It is limited to juicing certain items that will fit the cone i.e. oranges, lemon/limes, or grapefruits. I haven’t tried, but I think tomatoes would work on this as well.
Tips
My favorite type of oranges that have been consistently sweet are the navel oranges! I never have to add any sugar. I just juice and drink… it’s that easy!
This is one of my daily used gadgets. I’ve only used it to chop garlic/sauces so far, but you can use it to chop meat, vegetables, nuts, fruits etc…It’s easier and less messy than using a food processor. This is the mini version, but I also purchased the larger size using the same link. The larger one comes with a blending blade use to beat eggs or batter. However, I definitely reach for the mini one more often.
Instructions:
Step 1: Add items you want to chop i.e. garlic
Step 2: Close the lid.
Step 3: Pull the string to activate the spinning motion of the blades (I usually do a few pulls, shake the container to make sure the garlic is evenly distributed and do a few more pulls, but it all depends on how fine or coarse you prefer it).
Step 4: Viola, you now have chopped garlic in a few seconds!
Pros
Inexpensive
Chops food items in a few seconds
Great for chopping items to make sauces and salsa
Small, compact and not messy
Tips:
Read the instructions on Amazon before using.
Make sure to carefully remove and clean the blade. It is sharp and you can cut yourself.
Don’t leave the blades in the water for too long or it may rust.
Chop larger vegetables or other food items into chunks before throwing it into the food chopper.
It looks like the one I originally purchased is no longer sold, but here is a link for something similar
